About Niti Valley :
Niti is a small village located in the Niti valley of Joshimath. Niti is the last village and outpost in Indo-Tibetan border in Chamoli district. At an height of 3600 mtrs, Niti is situated near southern Tibetan border. The Niti Pass located at 5800 mtrs connects India with Tibet. During winters, Niti village and valley is covered with heavy snow. The villagers of Niti still follow the traditional methods of lifestyle in the mountains.
Kauri Pass :
The trek to Kauri Pass starts from Joshimath which is the hub for trekkers and pilgrims. The Winter Kuari Pass trek gives you a golden opportunity to admire the impressive skyline of the mighty mountains from close quarters. On some occasions, you might come across the footprints of the rare Himalayan Bear or Leopard. The best of the Kuari Pass is that you can camp amidst the lush green meadows, consisting of vast green pastures with Himalaya Views.
Irrespective of you being a seasoned trekker or a beginner the Kuari Pass is a trek you need to do. It is a must-do for the views of some of India’s most celebrated mountains – Mt Nanda Devi (25,673 feet) and Mt. Dronagiri (23,182 feet) – in any season. In winter there is an added attraction. The snow in its almost perfectly crafted forests. Snow flakes settled on the Oak leaves above a white carpeted forest floor takes you instantly to the land which would be Santa Clauses envy.To begin with, Kuari Pass is a 4-day trek (6 days when you include the travel days from Rishikesh). The trek starts from Dhak, a small village near Joshimath in the Garhwal Region of Uttarakhand. It is situated in the Nanda Devi National Park. Kuari Pass is an easy-moderate trek, which makes it easy enough for someone starting out in the Himalayas.

DAY-1
Day 1- Arrival in late afternoon. Program briefing and stay.
DAY - 2
Morning bird watching session and post breakfast acclimatization hike in the periphery of Nanda Devi National Park. Explore winter Lata village and Back.
DAY-3
Post breakfast drive 7 Km to Suraithota and hike 3 kms (one way) to Village Tolma to get the view of Dronagiri peak and Back.
DAY - 4
Trip to the last village of Niti on Indo – Tibet border. Subject to snow conditions and any new restrictions, else drive as far as possible to explore the trans Himalayan terrain of the Niti Valley.
Day-5
Post breakfast drive to Karchi village, and trek 3 Kms to camp at Guling. Over night in tents under snow conditions. Trek supported by porters due to snow conditions.
Day-6
Objective Kauri Pass from Khulara base and return to Karchi village. Drive back to stay destination.
Day-7
Post breakfast departure..
